Throughout history man has tried to conquer nature, by taming the wild forests and creating controlled gardens, each one a reflection of its creators..
'Dushi Tera' is a 2007 collection of new, fine art paintings by Aruban visual artist Stan Kuiperi. These highly esthetic works refer to the natural environment of Aruba and are meant to heighten the public's awareness of the need for conservation of nature. The tall cactus symbolizes Aruban flora in general. The color gold: Life energy.
This collection (part of the 2005 collection)depicts another type of cactus in a magical setting. The cacti are part of an undefined landscape, and are crowned with golden thorns (Authentic 24-karat Dutch gold leaf). This, plus the fact that they transcend into a sun-like form, is to show that they, too, exist by the grace of spirit energy.
Stan Kuiperi has been filming since the 1970's. Trained by his father who was a 8mm-movie fan, he has used super-8, VHS-video, miniDV, and now digital cameras to make short prodctions.
